I had a few days’ conference in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, a couple months back. Although it was late nights and long days, I got in a couple morning runs and even a 2 hour walk before my flight on the last day, which gave me an opportunity to wander around and take pictures.

My Amsterdam Takeaways:
- Boy are there a lot of tourists. I passed by the Anne Frank house and the line was well down the block – note to self: always book ahead.
- Never have I smelled so much marijuana during a morning run.
- There is a serious love for Miffy the Bunny. Which makes sense because Miffy is pretty great. Also, wooden tulips and wooden shoes.
- Amsterdam has some pretty spectacular sunrises along the canals, and some great light.
- Art and flowers are a lovely combination.

When we lived over there one terrific experience was spending a 3 day weekend in a canal houseboat in A-dam and wandering all day and in the evenings. We often think about that.
