In June, 2024 I was able to snag a couple tickets last minute to the Taylor Swift Eras tour at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. Penny and I had a great weekend in the city, hiking, exploring, and singing along.
Arthur’s Seat
Unlike many (dare I say most) cities, Edinburgh has a pretty impressive mini-mountain smack dab inside it, Arthur’s Seat. Within Holyrood Park, where I went running in the mornings, the climb is about 250 meters, and from the top there’s a wonderful view. Also, apparently Arthur’s Seat is an extinct volcano, so that’s pretty cool. Penny and I did the hike on an absolutely dazzling day; Scotland was showing off for us.

Around Town
We wandered around, bought Krispy Kreme donuts – which we don’t have in Copenhagen, so exciting, and tried some tasty and very cute sandwiches at a place called Toast Tea.
Eras Concert
And then came the main event – the Taylor Swift Eras tour at Murrayfield! The energy was so great, and the concert was incredible. We sang and cheered and it was definitely worth the trip.

Portobello Beach
The morning after the concert Penny and I spent wandering around Portobello beach, searching for hermit crabs and playing video games at the arcade. It was a great, relaxed way to end our mom-daughter weekend getaway.
