During our visit to Paris in June we toured the Grande Mosquée de Paris. I have so many photos that I decided it deserved a short blog post of its own!

Built from 1922 – 1926 and located in the 5th arrondissement, in the Latin Quarter, the Grande Mosquée is one of the largest mosques in France. You can view the prayer rooms, outdoor garden, library, and a cafe and restaurant for a small entrance fee. As we were in Paris during a heat wave, the cool tiled open-air mosque was a refreshing departure from the steamy Paris streets.

This was easily one of my favorite spots in Paris. It felt like being in a secret palace in the middle of the city. Serene, idyllic, and quiet, the mosque is lovely. Stopping into the cafe for mint tea and ice cream ended a fantastic visit.
