My annual visit to Brussels this year (work is not so bad) afforded me a chance to try out some new running routes during the 3 days I was there. Pink marshmallow sunrises, mild weather, and the changing autumn leaves left me with brilliant sights and really brightened up my trip.

Part 1, Parc du Cinquantenaire:

Created in 1880 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Belgium independence, Cinquaintenaire is a number of gardens with monuments and museums throughout. This was my first morning in Brussels, and I had the perfect sunrise streaming through the archways, birds swooping in and out.

Part 2, Bois de la Cambre:

This is a large wooded park that is part of the Forest of Soignes (the Sonian Forest). With the trees changing still in early November, the oranges, yellows, pinks, and greens were really extraordinary.img_6899

Part 3, Street Art-Spotting:

On my final morning in Brussels I decided to go in search of some street art. There’s this really cool website, https://parcoursstreetart.brussels/ , that shows on a map the over 100 current pieces of street art in Brussels. You can even sort by artist. Since I was pressed for time, I stuck to anything nearby my hotel, but for people into street art, you could easily spend an afternoon or two on a scavenger hunt, scouting out art on the buildings and streets throughout the city.

And a few other picturesque spots near the Eglise Notre Dame du Sablon:
